Crown and Bridge

What is a crown?
Crowns are a single custom-made cover which, when cemented into place, fully encase a tooth.
Crowns become treatment options for several reasons; broken teeth, those that have been severely damaged by decay, or weakened teeth. They can also be used to enhance the cosmetic appearance of a tooth which is mishapen or badly discoloured.
Dental crowns are often referred to as "caps".

What is a bridge?
A bridge quite literally "bridges" the gap made by one or more missing teeth. It consists of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap. The crowned teeth are termed "abutments", and the replacement fake teeth inbetween are termed "pontics".
Bridges help to restore a smile, maintain face shape, replace teeth needed to speak/chew, distribute the forces of the bite appropriately, and prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.

Crowns and bridges can be made out of:
    - Zirconia
    - Porcelain
    - Gold alloy
    - A combination of the above
