What is the TMJ?
The TMJ is your temporomandibular joint. This is the joint responsible for the connection of the mandible (lower jaw) to the skull.

What is TMD?
TMD stands for Temporomandibular Dysfunction. Many people suffer from TMD. Symptoms may include:

  • Pain on opening
  • Inability to open wide or move from side to side comfortably
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Ear pain, hearing loss
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Clenching, night time grinding
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Noise or popping in joint
  • Chronic Temporal or occipital headaches
Treatment of these problems can be complicated as the cause can often be multi-factorial.
